(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS. Juno 12. The annual meeting of the Bulls-Sanson-Carnarvon-Ohaken and Lower Rangitikci War Relief Society was held in Bulls on Thursday evening. Present: Messrs J. E. Walker (chairman), 11. J. MeManaway, J. H. Porrctt, J. Trickor, R. Mackay, F. O. Bailey, W. E. Pearce, Cl. H. Archer and the secretary. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs J. McKclvic and L. M. Richards. The following officers were elected: President, Mr J. McKclvie; vice-president, Mr J. E. Walker; hon. treasurer, Mr G. H. Archer; committee, Messrs L. M. Richards, R. Mackay and J. Trickor. The bal-ance-sheet was read and adopted. It showed that £261 19s 8d had been paid to returned soldiers and their dependants. . During the year there had been 355 payments passed for assistance, most of the applications coming from men on the road, who numbered 303. As anticipated, the Cliffo-Remington miniature rifle match between Bulls and Sanson was productive of a great finish. Bulls winning by the narrow margin of 2 points. Snooting was well up to the average of these matches, though the coldness of the air on Friday night affected the scoring to semo extent. Bulls riflemen shot right up to form, but the visitors failed to conic up to their great scores of the previous Monday, registered on their homo range. For the winners singlo possibles were recorded by Prichard, E. Broughton, Lundy and Banks, while Ken Lumsdcn, F. Tostovin and M. Pearce gained similar honours for Sanson. Bulls B team put up a poor total, and were soundly defeated, Sanson B having an advantage of 22 points at. tho close. 11. McKegney, Keith Lumsdcn and G. At supper after Friday’s shooting it wns agreed to start the triangular matches botwcon Bulls, Ohakea and Sanson as soon as convenient, there being very little match shooting in the M.R.C. Association draw this season. The amended rules for the McKelvic Cup shoots were also discussed, and objections will probably be lodged shortly. There was a good attendance at the-Bulls School cuchro party on Fyiday night, and first prizes were won by Miss M. Dwyer and Mr W. Hemes (Parewanui), Mrs Lundy gaining a second award. A danco and supper followed, the evening boing a very enjoyable one. On Saturday afternoon members of the Defence Rifle Club fired 10 shots at 800yds and 7 shots at 900yds, and scoring wns fairly high amongst the top-notchers. On the former range E. Broughton put on 49, and L. Huddleston registered a possible at 900yds. Full scores are as follow: —E. Broughton, 49-4-34—83; D. Lundy, 48 —34 — 82; C. M. Broughton, 48—33 —81; P. Thorby, 43—32—80; J. B. Robins, 48-30-73; L. Huddleston, 42 —35—77; R. McKenzie, 45—31—76; J. Smillie, 46—24—70; H. Meads, 42 —27—69; F. Simpson, 37—28—65. Tho club championships at 800 and 900yds will be fired on Saturday next. Old Boys Rugby thirds cotdd only muster up 12 men to visit Flock House on Saturday, and they were no match for the trainees, who gave them three boys and played a friondly game. Flock House winning in hollow fashion. Mr J. Dickson wns the referee. Ohakea sent senior and third grade teams to Avahuri on Saturday. The seniors were defeated by 3 to nil after a well contested game, and the thirds went under by 11 to 3.
