SOVIET BUTTER.
ADMISSION TO BRITAIN. LONDON, May 7. Notwithstanding the embargo on Russian imports, 225 tons of Siberian butter are being discharged at Hay’s Wharf. Apparently this is permitted because it was shipped before the emjargo became effective. The Daily Express says that this butter will be thrown on a market llready glutted with Danish, Dutch, Avedish and South American butter, and will be quoted at the London provisions exchange at 62s a cwt. Empire butter sold yesterday at 70s to (4s. One ship also brought 72,000 head •jf Russian poultry, principally imports of the co-operative societies, whose secretary says the goods were all paid for before the embargo was instituted.
