MYSTERIOUS FIRES.
DESTRUCTION IN CANTERBURY
Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, May 8,
Several stacks of valuable winter feed have been destroyed by mysterous fires in the Marshland district during recent weeks. The fires are believed to be of incendiary origin. The farmers are perturbed and are considering engaging armed guards for their properties. The latest incident was last evening, when a shed, owned by Messrs E. and A. Crozier, and containing 20 tons of hay, as well as a garage and cowshed, was destroyed. In one earlier fire two motor vehicles were destroyed.
