Communists and other radicals throughout the Western Hemisphere celebrated Mav Day in the traditional manner by holding mass meetings and making speeches. The proceedings were unusually free from violence, but the day was greeted at Chicago by a series of bombings in mid-city areas. About 150.000 dollars of damage was done, mainly smashed windows. There were no casualties.
