CHRISTCHURCH AVIATORS.
EX ROUTE TO AUCKLAND. Four Moth 'planes arrived at the Palmerston North aerodrome from Christchurch yesterday, en route ! for Auckland, to take part in the Auckland aero pageant. The first plane. I piloted by Lieutenant Harlow and carrying one passenger, Mr Warrail. arrived here at 11.30 a.m., followed a-quarter of an hour later by the other ’planes. Flight-Lieuten-ant J. C. Mercer, instructor to the Canterbury Aero Club, piloted one, Mr J. Adams, another, while the last ’plane was controlled by Miss Montgomery, who was accompanied by Lady Stewart, of Akaroa Bay. The ’planes, which are all owned by the Canterbury Aero Club, took off for Auckland at 12.40 p.m. AYitli the exception of Lady Stewart, the occupants of the ’planes are Christchurch residents.
The journey to Palmerston North was fair and the landings and take offs here perfect.
