WOOL MARKETS

LONDON SALES.

COMMENT IN ENGLAND. x

DIVERGENCE IN VALUES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copy right.) Received February 10, 8.35 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 9. The Dawson Company, Ltd., of Bradford, commenting on the wool sales, says: “There is considerable divergence in the values and tone between London and some of the ultimate markets. It is therefore impossible to diagnose the actual position. While London revealed a surprisingly strong and steady demand for the finer grades, the consuming centres, especially Roubaix and Bradford, are gripped in a lack of confidence, which is especially depressing and perplexing in view of the supply position. The spinners are finding that a. renewal of price cutting is disintegrating the market. This dominates the situation despite the general belief that wool is too cheap and the season too far advanced for a serious decline.” BRADFORD TOPS MARKET. LONDON, Feb. 9. The Bradford tops market is quiet and users are cautious. Following are to-day's quotations compared with those for the three previous weeks : January. February. 19 26 2 9
