PAHIATUA, Fob, 9. Mrs Kemp and Miss Bentley, of ICaramca, Westland (South Island), arc visiting this district, being the guests of Mr and Mrs J. Rose, Huia, ICohinui. Mr Price, of Birmingham, England, who is visiting New Zealand, is the guest of the Misses Rose, Longlands, Makairo. Mrs Drake, of Palmerston North, and Mr and Mrs Melville, of Auckland, are also guests at Longlongs. Mrs W. Spiers, of Suva, is visiting her niece, Mrs W. H. Murch, Pahiatna. Mrs A. L. Kitchen, of Trentham, who has boon the guest o.f Mr and Mrs L. W. Kitchen, Tyndall Street, has returned to her home.

Arising- out of a motor collision at Mangatainoka in July last, Richard Evans (Mr H. McShcrry) sought to recover £l6 Gd damages from Edith Kathleen MacFarlanc and Henry MacFarlanc, of Aokautere (Mr S. T. Tinney) before Mr J. Miller, S.M., in the Pahiatua Magistrate’s Court yesterday afternoon. After lengthy evidence had boon heard, judgment was given for plaintiff for the full amount, with Court costs £1 19s and solicitor’s fee £2 12s.
