MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Feb. 10.. The monthly meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board was held on Thursday evening, presided over by Trustee J. Chrystall. Also present were Trustees D. Purcell, W. E. Barber, B. G. Gower, and the clerk (Mr G. Y. Fraser). The foreman (Mr T. A. Robinson) reported as follows :“A further 35 chains of tho Main Drain was cleared, making 65 chains in all to date and leaving 28 chains to do. I made two inspections of the floodgates during the month and found them to be in good working order.” The report was adopted and it was decided lo inspect the drains at an early date and to carry out experimental work in connection with noxious weed eradication.

Tho treasurer (Mr G. V. Fraser) reported that the hank balances to date were as follow: Bank of New Zealand, at credit, ,tlos 14s sd; Foxton Borough Council cr. £2OO, P. 0.5.8. cr. £B4 6s. Tho treasurer stated that since giving notification of the board’s intention to impose tho 10 per cent, penalty the additional sum of £147 12s 2d had been received on account of the current year’s rates, of this sum £122 4s 8d was in respect to general rates and £25 7s 6d on account of special rates. The total amount of ratos outstanding at date was £lsl 7s 7d. —The report was adopted and accounts amounting to £157 16s Id were passed for payment.
