KAIRANGA.

KAIRANGA, Feb. 9. The monthly meeting of tho School Committee was held on Monday night, Mr C. llydo presiding. Also present were Messrs P. J. Eglinton, 0. A. Collis, J. B. Hughes, E. Kilgour (secretary), and the head teacher. In addition to routine Business, arrangements were made for the annual school picnic which is to be held on the Awapuni racecourse. A full programme of athletic events, games and competitions is being arranged. A meeting of the committee of tho Women’s Institute was held in the hall on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs Hamlin presided. In response to an invitation from Christchurch to a conference in Juno, it was resolved that an effort be made to send delegates. There was a large attendance at the tennis courts on Wednesday when there were several good games. A keen match was played by L. Lancaster and L. Clark, which resulted in a win. for Clark 9—7. A team of twelve Glen Oroua players will visit tho Kairanga courts on Saturday to try conclusions with a local team. The following team has been selected to represent Kairanga : Misses V. Montgomery, E. Green, 0. Green, D. Capp. J. Eglinton, Mrs L. Clark; Messrs L. Clark, 'L. Lancaster, I. Davey, G. Davey, 'W. Cook, R. Mildon.
