FLIGHT OVER A 25,550 FT. MOUNTAIN.

'AN R.A.F. ACHIEVEMENT. An Exchange message from Delhi states that five machines of the 11.A.F. recently concluded a night over hitherto inaccessible. country in the Himalayas. Many interesting photographs were taken. The machines were under the command or Flight-Lieutenant Isaac and flew _up the Indus Valley to Chilas and Gilgit, Kashmir. At the latter place the airmen were received by Mr Gillan, the political agent. From Gilgit two demonstration flights were carried out over the Hunza Valley, following the line of the Hunza River until Mount Rakaposhi was reached, 25,550 ft. in height. This mountain rises steeply from the river bed and presents a magnificent sight. In spite of its height the machines flew over it and afterwards flew over Hunza.
