SOVIET WHALERS.
ENTER PROHIBITED PORT. Received January 27, 8.40 a.m. TOKIO, Jan. 26. The authorities are not satisfied with the excuses offered by four Soviet whalers for entering the prohibited port on Bonin Islands. The vessels were brought to Yokohama under nava.l escort. Besides the crew, there are several suspicious persons aboard. They will be examined by the metropolitan police. The Bonin Islands are 700 miles south-east of Japan.
