LAND SPEED RECORD.

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Jan. 25. Sir Malcolm Campbell, who has been suffering from influenza, still had a high temperature when lie sailed from Southampton to-day for the United States, where on February 16 he will attempt to make a new land speed record on his motor car Bluebird. • On boarding the Aquitania Sir Malcolm immediately retired to bed. The Bluebird, which has been reconstructed by Sir Malcolm, set up the present World record of 253.968 miles an hour. It is fitted with Schneider Trophy Rolls-Royce engines, and the horse-power has been raised from 1400 to 2500.
