FEILDING

' SHEEP BREEDERS VISITED. Desirous of seeing what the Feilding district can offer in Southdown sheep, a party of Victorian farmers made a special trip from Palmerston North on Tuesday evening to the farms of Mr Jas. Knight, Feilding, and Messrs H. Burrell and Son, Cheltenham. The visitors, who were sheep farmers themselves and particularly interested in the fat ' lamb business, were greatlv impressed with the splendid sheep shown them and it is stated that the visit is very likely to lead to the sale of some of the local Routhdowns for ..shipment to Australia.

Stating that they had not seen half enough slieeii such as had been shown them in the brief visit to the two above farms, some of the visitors who stayed as late as possible, even missing their tea so as to be able t.o see as much as they could, made known their intention to return to Feilding for a further inspection before they left New Zealand.

NOTES. Mr Alex Fotlieringham. who has had charge of the Awnhnri Presbyterian circuit for several years, has been transferred to the Manawatu South circuit. Coppock, of Feilding. will regret to bear of the death at Wellington, early yesterday morning, of Mr Coppock’s father. The late Mr Coppock had been seriously ill for some time and the end, which ca.me quietlv in his sleep, was' not entirely unexpected.
