QUESTION OF GOVERNMENT,

PLAN FOR SINGLE PARLIAMENT. CONFERENCE OF PREMIERS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received December 20, 9.30 a.m. WINNIPEG, Dec. 19.

The west is talking again to-day of a single Government for the prairies. A revival of the plan to unite Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta under one Parliament camo with a statement from the Premier, Mr J. Bracken, at Manitoba at tho close of a three day parley between the prairie Premiers. These meetings are • held periodically. “We are endeavouring, in tlie absence of one single Government for the prairies, to accomplish by a conference some or the advantages that might be expected from a union of all,” said Mr Bracken, who 13 months ago came out definitely in favour of a single prairie Parliament. Already the prairies have gone a long way toward uniform, police protection with the assumption of tho police duties by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the three provinces. There has been some discussion at various times of uniting the Universities, health and hospital units, public works and various provincial services.

Manitoba, which is situated about the centre of the continent, has a total area of 251,832 square miles. Saskatchewan, with an area of 251,700 square miles, lies between Manitoba on tho east and Alberta 255,285 square miles) on the west.
