MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED.
Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Dee. 19. A serious accident resulting in the death of Mr William Templeton, of Pallia, single, aged 22, occurred at Campers’ Creek, Te Allan, yesterday. Mr Templeton and a pillion rider, Mr Alfred Cyril Crofts, aged 29, were proceeding toward Tuatapere, and apparently failed to see a notice which stated that the road was closed owing to the approach to the bridge oil the Tuatapere side having been washed away. The machine crashed through a barricade, which had been placed across the road, ran along the bridge, and dropped Id feet over the end into the stream below. Mr Templeton received serious injuries and died in the ltiverton Hospital. Mr Crofts had a miraculous escape, and received two fractured ribs, bruises and shock. Ho is at present in tlie ltiverton Hospital.
