TREBITSCH LINCOLN.
Trebitsch Lincoln was arrested in October in Brussels as an undesirable character and was, at his own request, conducted to the German frontier. He had come from Alarseilles, travelling with a passport obtained at Shanghai, under the name of Oliao Kung. He was dressed in the garb of a Buddhist priest.
Trebitsch Lincoln, an Hungarian Jew by birth, embraced Christianity, took Orders in tho Church of England, then entered politics, and in 1910 sat as Liberal M.P. for Darlington. He acted as a censor at the outbreak of the War, but in 1916 was sent to prison for forgery. After the War he took part in tho Kapp Putsch in Germany, and later, according to his own story, entered into relations -with the French and Czech Secret Services, but became disgusted with Europe and went to tho East. In China ho became chief adviser to Wu I’ei-fu, and after sundry other adventures and travels, he turned Buddhist and lived for some time as a monk in Ceylon.
