Lorigan contemplates moving from Sydney to Melbourne. He considered he was badly treaicd when Lavington had a race taken away from him. Tout lu Mond has come through a solid preparation during the last few months. He has done plenty of good track work, while ho has improved steadily with each race. WORK AT WOODVILLE. AUCKLAND CAN Dr AXES GALLOP. With the course proper available al M oodville on Saturday there was some interesting work in preparation 'for the holiday meetings. Jayson (Cl. J. Jones) led Chock Say (G lading) throughout in a mile gallop after running the first five furlongs in 1.6. Jayson goes north for the hurdle events at Ellerslio, while Chock Hav will be at Awapuni. La Poupcc ((Monk) ran five furlongs iri 1.7 after having traversed tho iiivt three furlongs in 38sec. It was quite a satisfactory effort. I’rincivs Doreen (11. F. Gray) and Catalogue (G. J. Jones), who had gone through from Awapuni for a filial gallop under tinsame track conditions as the former’s fellow Foal Stakes candidate, Red (Manfred, were partners over half a mile. They took 13sec for the, first furlong, but once straightened out for home Princess Doreen clrew out to complete her task in 49sec. A comparison with Red Manfred was not peso bio for F. Davis's representative was worked over six furlongs the reverse way. lie ran the first three furlongs in 38sec, 1110 half mile in 50 3-5. (he live in 1.3 and Ihe full distance in 1.15 —an excellent effort. Arajean (Moult), who is invariably a great track worker, led Royal Routine (F. Reid) throughout in a six furlongs gallop run in 1.17. Tho first three furlongs were loft behind in 39scc and the last three in 38s ce. Golden Wings, with a lightweight in the saddle, registered a pleasing effort after breakfast by running six furlongs in 1.14 1-5. Tho initial furlong occupied 13seo. bu;' thereafter he ran them at an even 12sce to the furlong. Lack, ihe stable companion lo Golden Wings, fulfilled a similar task in 1.15 2-5. While Lack will also go north to Ellerslio, he will not bo a starter on the opening day. HORSES FOR AUCKLAND. CANTERBURY CONTINGENT. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 17. Most of the Riccarton trainers with horses engaged at Auckland left on Thursday night. T. Lloyd took Gay Crest, Tout lo Mond and The Quorn; H. Cutts, Fast Passage, Cricket Bat and Fracas; G. Murray Aynsley, Silver Scorn and Berate; P. V. Mason, Jaloux, Azalea; and C. Emcson, Concentrate. All these horses are in good condition. Fast Passage, despite the fears over the suspensory ligament, has shown no evidence of unsoundness, and has done several good gallops during the past week. J. H. Prosser left last night- with Great Star and Grand Review. This leave only Silver Ring, and the plans in his ease are' unecrain, but a final decision will probably be made after the races at the Banks Peninsula meeting at Riccarton. If going north he will probably leave hero on Tuesday. Silver Scorn is very well, hut G. (Murray Aynsley has had no instructions yet regarding the shipping of her to Sydney. POVERTY BAY WEIGHTS. ROSEHILL RACES. NEW ZEALANDERS UNPLACED, SYDNEY, Dec. 18. At the Rosehill meeting, the following was the result of the Corinthian Cup (amateur riders), seven furlongs: Sabbath Shoon, 10.7 (Mr Quinlan) 1; Potenf, 12.3 (Mr' Melville) 2; Aravir, 10.9 (Mr Logan) 3. Twelve started, including Power, who was last. Stately was unplaced in the Dundas Handicap, and ICodapcn ran unplaced in the Carlingford Mile.
