(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, Doc. 16. The third of a series of evening meetings was hold on the domain on Wednesday when thoro was a splendid attendance, including a number from outlying districts. Tho racing was interesting. 'There were ono or two spills. The sum of £1 18s was collected. Ono of tho most successful examinations yet held at tho Otaki State School was the recent one, when 23 scholars gained proficiency certificates and three competency certificates, thero being no failures. Constablo McNulty, of Masterton (lato of Otaki) has been appointed to assist Senior Constable A. McLeod, at Featherston.
