FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
COURT MANAWATU, A.O.F. < There was a largo attendance of children and adults last evening at the Foresters’ Hall, the occasion being the visit of “Father and Mother Christmas,” who arrived by car at 7.30 p.m. Amidst cheers they took their place by the tree which was ablaze with beautiful coloured lights and toys, converting the interior of the hall into a wonderland. Each child was then handed a useful toy and later enjoyed a refreshing drink and ice-creams. P.C.R. Bro. Holgerson was also the recipient of a Christmas present. Had-nt not been for the assistance of the sister Court, Court Hinemoa, in all probability this function would not have been held and Court Manawatu are indebted to them for their untiring efforts to make the function the success it was.
