DENTAL CLINICS
meeting of committee. Colonel J. H. AAJiyte presided over the monthly meeting of the Dental Clinics Committee last evening. With regard to tho application of the Convent School for the admission of its pupils to tho clinic, the chairman reported that Air Elliott, tho representative of the department concerned, had informed him on a visit to Palmerston North that this should he practicable in the New Year. It was suggested that children residing on tho east-south side of the railway line should attend at the College Street clinic and others of the town clinic. Arrangements were made for the transfer of the Cuba Street clinic to rooms in tiie Plunket Society Building in King Street which are being taken possession of at tho New Year. The secretary submitted an interim statement of receipts and expenditure for tho committee’s year which closes on December 31, and the result showing an amount in credit which cannot be accurately ascertained until the cost of removal to the new rooms is known, was deemed te be satisfactory. In view of the accretions to the roll this year, and the reduction in the rent payable next year the committee decided to make the charge per pupil 4s for next year. It is felt that by. doing so some help will be given to parents in these times of adversity and that possibly the large number of exemptions, for which school committees bears the cost, will be reduced next year. The annual circular letter to parents was approved as drafted.
