ANOTHER CONFERENCE NOT DESIRED. Received December 6, 12.20 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 5. In tire House of Commons, Air J. S. AA’ardlaw-Alilne asked, as a settlement of Empire currency would probably promote the solution of tho international financial difficulties, would the Chancellor summon an Empire Conference to arrive at a settlement of tho basis for exchange, facilitating and promoting the flow of Empire produce. Alajor Hore-Belisha, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, replied that he luid nothing to add to Air AlacDonald's reply of n few days ago. Air MacDonald indicated that ho had no reason to suppose that another conference would he welcomed by any part of the Empire. In tho House of Commons recently, Mr P. A. Hurd asked whether Mr Ramsay MacDonald. the Prime Alinister. was aware that currency differences were tending to nullify tho benefits of the Ottawa agreement to Canada and other parts of the Empire, and whether Britain would call an early conference with the Dominions on tile subject. Air AlacDonald said there was no reason to believe that such a conference would be effective. He bail received no request for it from tho Dominions.
