RONGOTEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) HONGOTKA, Oct. 12. The Rongotea Miniature Rifle Club held a meeting recently. Mr W. Amey was in the chair. Owing to lack of interest it was decided to wind up tho club. The balance of funds in hand amounting to £7 10.1 was donated to the Rongotea Girl Guides. The monthly mooting of directors of the Rongotea Co-op. Dairy Company was held yestorday. In the absence of Mr F. Burgess, tho chair was taken by Mr W. Gloyn. There were also prosent Messrs S. Foster, R. Anderson, J. Huddleston, C. Hamlin and J. Duke. A resolution expressing sympathy with Mr Burgess and family in their recent bereavement- was carried. The output of butter was stated to liavg again considerably increased, being now 145 boxes per day or only eight boxes less than tho peak day of the previous season. The lack of space on the main road fronting tho Rongotea Cemetery calls for attention. The road opposite the gates has been widened recently, but it is not suflicient to enable a largo number of cars to get away promptly after attendance at a funeral. On several occasions lately there has begn serious congestion, especially noticeable on a recent Sunday, when there was not only serious inconvenience, but also a danger of collisions in tho manoeuvring of cars owing to the cramped conditions.
