SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR. The bazaar held by the Christian Women’s Auxiliary of the Church of Christ, in tiro Orange Hall, yesterday afternoon was in every way successful.
In addition to the helpers already mentioned, the cake stall and tearooms were in the charge of Mesdames Olson and Menhennet, Scadden (convener), Rogers, Looker, Stevens, Martin, Collis and Sowerby. The acting president, Mrs Mayes, supervised the general arrangements in the absence of the president, Mrs J. Willson,, who was indisposed. Mrs Honore made a capable secretary. During the afternoon the Mayoress (Mrs A. E. Mansford) visited the bazaar and was presented with a posy by Shirley Parker. The sale of work was continued in the evening, when novelty competitions were conducted and a brisk trade was done. Mr A. Hinrichsen returned thanks to i all who had assisted with donations and their services. A hat trimming competition, which created lively interest, was won by Mr A. E. Wright. Others who competed wore Messrs A. ■ Hinrichsen, H. Jackson, N. W. McLean, V. J. Nicholson, W. O’Leary, J. C. Parker and J. H. Taylor.
