Unemployment is worst in Welsh mining districts, where the figure rises as high as 80 and moro per hundred out of work, the average being 50 per cent. Durham’s figure is 42 per hundred. Scotland’s worst spots are Lanarkshire, with 33.6, and Renfrewshire, with 33.4 per cent.
