WATERSIDERS’ DEMAND.
Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Oct. 12. When half-an-hour’s work remained to complete the loading of the steamer Raranga. at 10 o’clock to-night one of the gang of watersiders demanded to he paid for the two hours till midnight. The stevedore went away to consult the owners and when he returned the men were walking off the ship. The remainder of the pork and cheese had to l>e returned to the store.
