POLYANNA CLUB.

A SUCCESSFUL CONCERT. The Polly anna Club held a most successful concert in the Cuba Street Methodist Church hall, last night, when an audience of good dimensions was treated to a very pleasing musical programme. The varied nature of the items appealed strongly to tho audience and at the conclusion overtures were made for the concert to be repeated at a later date at Longburn and Rongotea in aid of the Church funds. The programme as presented was:— Opening choruses: “Pollyanna” and “How Do You Do, Everybody?”; guitar duet, Misses Perrin and AVhiteliead; “Rendezvous” (soloist Miss T. Jackson), Shepherd, Miss A. Hansen, shepherdess, Miss M. McArthur; Gavotte, Misses Jackson, Matthews, Riley and Lindsay; pianoforte solo, Rita Lavin; “When. Irish Eyes Are Smiling” (acted in costume), Misses Young, Douglas, Riley, Fraser (2), and Cottam; solo, “Rosebud,” Ava Findlay; “Council Meeting” (an original item), by club members. During the interval there was community singing led, by Miss A. Hansen. The second half of the programme was: Solo (in Maori costume), Miss Young; “Daffodils,” dance number by Misses Hansen, Matthews, Boyce, Findlay, Chilton and Riley; humorous monologue,'Miss S. Fraser; “Mickey and Minnie Mouse,” Misses Finch and AA’mton; guitar solo, L. Perrin; humorous dialogue, “The Train to Longburn,” club members; closing chorus, “Cheer Up,” dull members. Proceedings were brought to. a successful conclusion by tbe singing of the National Anthem. At a suitable juncture the opportunity was taken by the members to present their leader, Mrs L. Matthews, with a bouquet as a mark of appreciation of her efforts, while Edna Tonkin, the organiser of the concert, J was similarly honoured.
