VESSELS IN COLLISION.
NORWEGIAN STEAMER SINKS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Oct. 10. A collision occurred in the English Channel yesterday morning between the White Star liner Afric Star, 11,867 tons, bound from London to Buenos Aires, and the Norwegian steamer Cliarente, 1327 tons, bound from Bordeaux to Oslo. The crew of the Cliarente, with three passengers, including a woman and a small baby, were quickly taken aboard the Afric Star. While this was being done the Afric Star kept » her bow locked in the Cliarente. Afterwards the Cliarente sank. The Afric Star returned to London, where it was found that her bow had been damaged.
