BRITISH AIRMAN'S FEAT. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Oct. 10. The Federation Aeronautics International has confirmed the world altitude record for aeroplanes established recently by Captain C. F. Uwins, a well-known British airman, in a Vickers Vespa biplane, with Bristol Pegasus engines. Captain Uwins reached a height of about eight miles and a half, beating the previous record held by the United States by 800 feet.
