ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETIES.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Oct. 12. The conference of Acclimatisation Societies opened to-day. The president (Mr L. H. Tripp) in a lengthy address dealt with, many matters in which the societies are concerned. The Secretary of Internal Affairs (Mr Malcolm Fraser) is attending the conference. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr L. H. Tripp; vice-presi-dent, Mr Whitney; treasurer, Mr Dyer; council, Dr. Anson,and Mr Seed (Wellington), Messrs McKenzie (Auckland) Laurence (North Canterbury), Stockwell (Feilding), Wilson (Otago), Mackay (South Canterbury), Duigan (Wanganui), Robertson (Southland), Parkin (Whangaroa), Mogridge (Marlborough) and Edmondson (Hawk© s Bay). •
