FREE AMBULANCE SERVICE.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Your correspondent “Another Citizen” insists on learning through the columns of your valuable paper il Air Holz receives any remuneration for his services in connection with the Free Ambulance, so it is my duty to herein give the information required. It ;s now six months since the inception of the service and the total remuneration that Air Holz has accepted during all this time is a sum of £6. Right from the commencement, Air Holz has repeatedly advised the committee, whenever the matter was mentioned, that he would not accept remuneration until the service was on a sound financial basis, and except for the above mentioned amount lie has stood by his resolutions. With regard to the publication of a financial statement, I wish to refer “Another Citizen” to your issue of September 3, where lie will see from the report of our committee meeting that a general meeting of all contributors will be held shortly for the purpose of incorporating the service under the Friendly Societies Act, and the opport unity'will then be taken to furnish for public perusal a financial statement up to date. We now trust that the above statement will be satisfactory, to “Another Citizen” and that we may soon have the pleasure of making his acquaintance and in future have his wholehearted support in furthering the work of the service.—l am, etc., J. T. BOSWORTH, Chairman.
