PLAY AT TAKARO.
BOWLING AND CROQUET. Twelve bowling rinks participated in play at the o]>ening of the Takaro Bowling, Croquet and Tennis Club’s season yesterday. There was a good muster of tennis and croquet players. Results of the rinks howling over 18 heads were as follow: —Shannon (Roach, Gray, Alexander, skip) 12 v. Takaro (DalzieL, Batson, Kirk, Robinson, skip) 13; Paliiatua (Murphy, Patrick, Kershaw, Hodd, skip) 12 v. Palmerston North (Hine, Wilkinson, Morris, Boon, skip) 16. Northern (Levy, Binns, Wort, Rabone, skip) 24 v. Takaro (Murdie, Burnett, Ball, A Smith, skip) 10; Foxton (J. Newth, Huntley, Christie, Hinds, skip) 19 v. Takaro (M. Newth, Ellis, Ross, Tantrum, skip) 19; Terrace End (Bee, Collier, Arnott, Mochan, skip) 17 v. Takaro (Russell, E. Smith, Morgan, Tanner, skip) 14; Manawatu (Porter, Carlyle, Gerrand, King, skip) 15 v. Takaro (Stallard, Lawson, Killick, Bovis, skip) 22. Croquet competitions were won as follow : —French croquet. Mrs H. L. Langford; angles, Mrs Russell; golf, Mrs 11. W. Bovis.
