TARIFF WAR
EFFECTS IN IRISH FREE STATE. LIST OF BRITISH IMPORTS. DROP OF NEARLY A MILLION. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received September 28, 1.5 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 27. The results of the tariff war are shown in the latest Irish Free State returns. Imports from Britain in August were valued at £1,767,000 compared with £2,523,000 in August last year. The exports to Britain were £1,212,000 compared with £2,925,000 in August last year. The Free State has issued a revised list of duties on cereals and animal foods, including 7s 6d per cwt. on non-Empire maize, oats and barley and 5s per cwt. on Empire; also similar preferences on other products.
