TAKARO CLUB’S MEETING. The annual general meeting of the bowling section of the Takaro Bowling, Croquet and Tennis Club was held on Monday night, Mr G. H. Jarrett presiding over a. good attendance. • A motion of condolence was accorded the relatives of the late Mr M. Suhan, of the Levin Club. The matter of bowlers attending the opening of the various clubs was left in the hands of the selection committee. Mr Bigham wns extended a welcome as a new member. The section’s annual report was read and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Chairman, Mr A. V. Batson; secretary, Mr A. Cooksley; delegates to centre, Messrs Cooksley and A. Smith; executive, Messrs H. W. Bovis, A. W. Just and A. Smith; handicap committee, Messrs A. Smith, R. Tanner and Cooksley. It was decided that the cluh hold champion singles and pairs competitions, also handicap singles and pairs, with a time limit to be fixed by the handicap committee. The champion singles and pairs are to be limited to sixteen players and bo played on the two-life system. It was decided that the Takaro-Te Raki Cup competition be limited to four games, two on each green. The meeting resolved to hold gala days during the season and a pairs tourney of six games of eleven heads on Labour Day. Messrs Just and Bovis were accorded a vote of thanks for the donation of prizes. The meeting closed with a vote ot appreciation to the retiring chairman, Mr Jarrett, and to Mr Batson, the new chairman.
