GLEN OROUA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) GLEN OROUA, Sept. 27. The usual fortnightly euchre party and dance was held in the hall on Friday night, the attendance being up to the usual standard. The euchre prizes were won by Mrs W. Boswell and Mr and Carroll, the consolation awards going to Miss M. Robinson and Mr H. O’Connor. The usual orchestra was in attendance, and dance extras were played by Mr R. Singh (Palmerston North) and Mr R. Boswell. Mr L. H. Ihle was M.C. A meeting of the hall committee was also held on Friday night, and it was decided to hold two more dances this season, the last to be an .old-time dance. On the final evening the ladies’ and men’s points prizes for the season’s euchre tournaments will be presented. The committee have accented a tender for painting and renovating the interior of the half. Last season the exterior was treated, and other improvements were made, the various appointments being brought right up-to-date.
