MINING DISPUTE.
STATEMENT BY SECRETARY OF UNION.

WHANGAREI, Sept. 27. The secretary of the Waro Miners’ Union .states that the report to the effect that the men had declared the mine “black” does not accord with the actual position a.s tlie union is prepared to permit tiro men to engage in bowing coal specifically for boiler purposes. The report was probably due to a misunderstanding of the complicated issues as between the directors and the union.
