SPECTACULAR RISE.
GOLD SHARES IN AUSTRALIA.
Received September 16, 10.20 a.m. MELBOURNE, Sept. .16. The shares of The Granites, paid up to £l, rose to £42 on the Stock Exchange. This spectacular jump followed reports that options had been secured over 14 leases by a gold prospecting party. These shares wero £lB at tho close of business on Wednesday and £lO on Tuesday.
