WOODVILLE, Sept. 14. The Mayor and Mayoress, Air and Mrs J. Elder, who were on a short visit to Napier, returned to Woodville yesterday. Air J. F. Jaino, stock inspector, of Woodville, has returned after spending several days’ holiday in Hawera. Aliss Alolly McCormick, of Waipukurau, is visiting Woodville as the guest of Mr and Airs F. Williams. Telegraphic advice has been received of the death in Henderson on Alonday of Mrs G. Hutchins, formerly of Woodville. The late Airs Hutchins was a sisiter of Air W. Hutchins, of Kumeroa, and aunt of Airs H. Hammond, Air J. Aleredith and Air A. Hutchins, of Woodville. Work was commenced to-day on the construction of tho new Anglican Church vicarage in Ross Street. In brilliant spring weather tho annual sale of work and flower show, hold by Holy Trinity Church Ladies’ Guild, was opened at the Drill Hall, Woodville, this afternoon. Earlv blooms have been favoured by exceptionally favourable weather conditions during the past week, and as a consequence there was a glorious profusion of flowers. Tho points prize in tho decorative section was won by Miss J. Kirkpatrick. The runner-up for.AH M- Rooney’s prizo was Mrs Halpin. Iho judges were as follow:—Cut flowers, Rev. G. B.
