NEWBURY SCHOOL.
JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS
On Tuesday evening a meeting of the residents of Newbury was held, to consider the matter of holding jubilee celebrations in connection with the Newbury School. Mr M. G. Hansen presided over a. very good attendance. „ T J. The records of the very earliest school are not available, but the residents of the district considered that the time was ripe for holding a jubilee function. A strong committee was set up to launch the project of holding a re-union social and dance on October 28. The committee comprises Messrs Hansen, Lovelock, C. Collins, junr., Small, Ross, Death, Clieetham, Callaway and Paul, and Mesdames Lincoln, Shaw and Linklater. Mr I aul and Mrs Linklater are joint secretaries. Invitations are to be sent to a ll whom the committee can locate, und all old pupils aro invited to attend.
