WEDDING
FLEMING—ROWE
A wedding which created much interest was clebrated at the Oroua Hall, Palmerston North, yesterday liiorning, when Kathleen, third daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Rowe, of ROll- - was married to Mr Andrew Fleming, also of Rongotea, second son of Mrs W. Dixon Fleming and tho into Mr W. Dixon Fleming, of Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, Ireland. The hall had been charmingly decorated by friends of the bride, with a wealth of spring flowers, palms and greenery, and the ceremony was performed by Mr W. Carswell, of Wanganui, Miss Ethel Rowe, sister of the bride, presiding at the organ. Escorted by her father, the bride looked very sweet in her graceful gown of ivory ring velvet, made in a charmingly simple style with long sleeves and flared ankle-length skirt. Her hand-embroidered veil was held with a circlet of orange blossom and fell softly to form a train. She wore a pearl necklet and ivory satin shoes, and carried a sheaf of irises. Two sisters of the bride. Misses Grace and Elsie Rowe, were in attendance as bridesmaids wearing pretty anklelength frocks of shell pink gossamer satin and satin beaute, respectively, with coatees of pink chiffon velvet summer fell hats and satin shoes to tone. They wore amber necklets, the gifts of tlie bridegroom, and carried sheaves of blue irises and pink hvacinths.
The bridegroom was supported by bis brother, Mr W. Fleming, as best man, and Mr Donald Rowe, brother of the bride, as groomsman. At the reception which followed. Some 130 guests were entertained at Messrs Coliitison arid Cunninghame’s rooms, where long tables were beautifully ornamented with pale pink hyacinths, tulips, sweet pens and maidenhair fern. Conspicuous on the bride’s table was tlie handsome threetiered take, which had been made and iced by Mrs Miliary Rowe, a sister-in-law of the bride. Several eulogistic remarks were passed in speeches made by the following: Alessrs J. S. Aioir, <L Glover, XV. Carswell, L. Noel, F. Bailey, R. Rowe and E. Rowe. The bridegroom responded. Air W. Fleming (best man) read numerous telegrams and Mr D. Rowe spoke on behalf of tlie bridesmaids. Mr and Mrs Rowe received the guests, Airs Rowe wearing a black silk frock with a ring velvet coatee and a black chip straw hat, her posy being of mauve pansies, anemones and maidenhair fern. Aliss A. Rowe, who assisted her mother, wore a periwinkle blue floral maroeain frock with collar and cuffs, a black straw lint trimmed with flowers beneath toe brim, and a stone marten fur. She carried a posy of anemones, polyanthus and maidenhair fern. Aliss Ethel Rowe wore green maroeain and a black straw hat, with flowers to tone. Aliss Alarion Rowe was in pale blue crepe-de-chine with a hat to match.
After the usual eongrntualtiqns had been offered, Mr and Mrs Fleming leti on their wedding trip, the bride travelling in a wine maroeain troek and a fur coat, with a fawn felt hat and shoes to tone. Tlie bride’s present to bridegroom was a travelling rug, and the bridegroom’s present to the bride a fur necklet. Numerous presents were received by them. The happy couple will make" their future home in Rongotea.
