Mr Justioo Blair, who is ill in Greymouth, is unable to take the sessions at Westport, and Mr Justice Reed left last night, via Nelson, to open the Court there to-morrow. Tho committee of the Central School last evening passed a motion of sympathy with one of its members, Mr \V. Garden, in the recent death of his father and the illness of his wife.

Squadron Leader J. L. Findlay, Officer-in-Chiirge of the Wigram Aerodromo, who was injured in the recent flying accident at Hornby, has now been discharged from the Christchurch Hospital. Dr. E. Marsden, Director of Scientific and Industrial Research, underwent an operation at a private hospital at Auckland a few days ago. He is reported to be making satisfactory progress.

Colonel J. E. Duigan, officer commanding tho Northern Command, who recently underwent a serious operation, has returned to his home in Remuera, Auckland, where he is now convalescent.

Mr R. Prows Broad, 8.A., headmaster of the Kilbirnie School, AA’ellington, has been appointed to the hcadmastership of the Epsom School, Auckland, where ho will take charge at the beginning of next month.
