TAIKOREA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) T-AIKOREA, Aug. 26.
A week of fine days, followed by hard frosts, has been experienced. Although the weather enables the fanner to proceed with spring ploughing, harrowing, etc., the frosts are not welcome, as they cut the growth of grass which is badly needed at, present. Top-dressing has been commenced and as feeding out still continues the farmer is busy from daylight till dark. The usual weekly ping pong evening was held in the hall on Monday night, there being a normal attendance. Supper was served and play continued till nearly midnight. Misses Gladys and Muriel Prior, who have been staying with Mr and Mrs Prior, have returned’to their home in Fitzherberf. Mr J. Osborne has returned from the King Country, and is staying with Mr and Mrs H. Sexton. Miss K. Lover, of Rangiotu, is tho guest of her sister, Mrs Prior. Mrs Turner, of Stanway, spent a short visit with her daughter, Mrs Castle. Mr and Mrs Ward and their small son are spending tho school holidays in Wanganui. -Air {.'.
