TIAKITAHUNA.
(From Oar Own Correspondent.) TIAKITAHUNA, Aug. 27. There wa> a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the local Women's Institute. held in the ha!! this afternoon. Miss Ferguson and Mrs Yautier were added to the standing eomimttee. In order to augment the funds of the institute it was decided to hold a concert and dance in the near future. During the afternoon Miss M. Morley gave an instructive demonstration on basket making. A playette entitled "Invitations'* was staged by members. Parts were taken by Misses J. Strachan, J. Ferguson, M. Rowland, J. Morley, E. Jeffrey and M. Morley. A knitting competition for a woollen garment, the cost not to exceed 2s fed, was won by Mrs Croucher 1. Miss Jeffrey 2 and Mrs Ross 3. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs D. and \Y. Rowland and Sirs Ross.
On Friday night a friendly match between the To Arakura and Tiakitahuna ping pong clubs was played in the local hall, To Arakura winning by 22 games to
