AUSTRALIAN DELEGATE.
VISIT TO WASHINGTON. WASHINGTON, Ang. 25. While in Washington, Mr S. M. Bruce, head of the Australian delegation at the Imperial Economic Conference, visited the Canadian, South African and Irish Free State Legations and inspected the palatial new British Embassy, of which Washington is immensely proud. Ho will leave for New York to-morrow.
The national broadcast on Australia’s problems will begin at 7.45 on Sunday evening (New York time). Messrs McDougal, Murphy and McGregor are in Washington examining administrative methods in the Commerce Department, which maintains a world-wide organisation. Mr Bruce dined to-night with Mr Castle, permanent head of tho State Department, with whom he made close contact in 1927. Mr Bruce obtained at first hand tho highest American official views of the -world monetary crisis.
