INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES.
WAGES OF TAILORS. WELLINGTON, Aug. 26. No agreement was reached on the question of wages by the Conciliation Council which considered the tailors’ dispute, and a motion to refer the dispute to the Arbitration Court w»s lost. The Council adjourned until September 6th. ■AWARD CANCELLED. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN Aug. 26. No agreement was reached in the freezing works dispute at Dunedin, and the Otago and Southland award will bo automatically cancelled 30 days hence. TWO DISPUTES SETTLED. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Aug. 26. At the close of to-day’s sitting of the Conciliation Council the Commissioner, Mr S. ltitchie, expressed pleasure at tho fact that he had been able to bring about two industrial agreements in one day—warehousemen’s and canister workers—and complimented the assessors and representatives on the excellent spirit in which they had carried out tho negotiations.
