LAWN TENNIS.

NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, Aug. 27. General business was dealt with at the annual meeting of the council of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association last evening. Mr A. G. Henderson presided. In its quarterly report the management committee stated that since the close of the last year on June 30 receipts totalled £sl 10s and payments £32 4s 4d. Amounts now outstanding totalled £lll 8s 2d. The committee bad made every endeavour to arrange for visits by a United States team during the coming season. No definite firsthand information, however, was available at the present time. To another delegate Mr Henderson replied that the location and dates for the 1932 New Zealand championships a.nd tho final matches in the Anthony Wilding Shield and Kathleen Nunneley Casket competitions would have to be tho first matter considered by the new executive. Tho following officers were elected for tho ensuing year:—Patron, His Excellency the Governor-General, -Lora Bledisloe; president, Mr G. Gore; secretary and treasurer, Mr D. Murray Kean; management committee, Messrs A G Henderson, M. E. Denmston, N. A. Foden, C. G. White, W. J. Melody, H. I. Graves and Dr. A. E. Park, honorary auditor, Mr F. O. Austin; representative on the Lawn Tennis As sociation, London, and on the International Lawn Tennis Federation, Mr F H. Woodward, M.B.E. Vice-presi-dents were elected as nominated by affiliated associations.
