(From Our Own Correspondent.) LINTON. Aug. 25.

| A successful school concert was hold in tho hull last Friday evening, to raise funds for the school library. A large number were present and a satisfactory sum was raised. This, with the mount already raised by the School Committee through dances, should provide quite a good library. The programme was provided entirely by the school children, who had worked very hard to make the concert a success. The duties of Al.O. were performed by Alaster Jim Nash, assisted by Ray (Joocli. The programme was as follows: Recitation, Ray Gooch; songs by tho school choir, recitation, Norma Terry; song, Connie Perfect; dances, the Infants; piano duet, Ngaire Lynch and Bernice Beale; play, “'The .Mad 'lea Party” (The Hatter, Malcolm Greer; tho March Hare, Trevor Nash; the Dormouse, Alan Lynch; Alice, Audrey Russell). Mouth organ solos, Winton James; song, Royce Tucker; Maori Canoe, Senior pupils; recitation, Kevin Beckett; eongs, the school choir; action recitation, Juniors girls and boys; song, Royce Tucker; recitation in costume, Neil Beckott; play, (Mrs Modger, Bernice Beale; 'The Landlord, Harold MeBreartv: The Fill rv, Mary Gretton; The Arm-Chair, Madgo Lynch). Aolion recitation, Constaneo Perfect; songs, Winnie Terry; Rcse Dance, Bernio Beale, Sybil Young, Bessie arid Eiloen Mcßrearty, Mary Gretton. Audrey Russell, Zolma Terry, and Madge Lynch; song, Roland Terry; action songs, tlio Juniors; play (the Professor, Darcy Lynch; the two negroes, Jim Nash and Roland Terry); farewell recitation, Rav Gcoeli. The concert was followed by a dance, tho music being provided by Messrs Brill, Greer. CJollis and Wilson. Mr -McBrearty, chairman of the school committee, thanked the people for their attendance, and Mrs A. Currin for the loan of costumes and for making other accessories, and congratulated the children and teachers on their efforts.
