WOODVILLE.
WOODATLLE Aug. 23. Mr 11. CHote, of tl jo Woodville branch of the Bank of Now Zealand, who is on transfer to Hastings was met by the executive of the Woodville Football Club for a farewell ceremony. In making Mr Chote a small presentation, on behalf of tho club, Mr Mackie stated that since Mr Chote had come to Woodville he had taken a great interest in the Rugby game and had been of great assistance to the players and to the club. It was with deep regret- that Air Chote was departing but he felt sure that the good work that had been done during the past two seasons would bear fruit in the seasons to come. In replying, Air Chote thanked the club for the presentation and stated that what little no had done was for the good of the game and that ho felt sure the successful season tho club had experienced this year would he tho means of boosting tho game in Woodville next season.
Tlicrc was a packed house for the lloltio .Maori Melody Makers when they provided a concert programme in aid of funds for providing a sand pit for the infant children of the local school. r J'he conceit, which was arranged by Mr J. Sullivan, went with a swing from start to finish and the large number of items rendered were much appreciated by nil present. The funds of the school will benefit to tho extent of about £ls.
