GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS.
TOURNAMENT AT ADELAIDE.
ADELAIDE, Aug. 23.
In the national golf tourney to-day McMahon was again impressive with a dashing 70 in par figures, except at tho third and tenth. Nettlefold’s putting was dazziing and Bettington was intermittently blight. AViriser played sterling golf to dispose of AYhitton at tho fortieth hole. AYhitton at the twelfth holed from 160 yards. Details are as follow :
PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
The quarter finals of tho professionals’ championship resulted as unde,. : —McMahon beat Corry, 10 up and 8 to play; G. Naismitli beat T. Howard 3up and 2to play; Richardson beat Harvey 1 up; McLachlan beat Fowler, 2 up. AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The amateur quarter-finals resulted as follow:—Nettlefold lreat Cheadle, 10 up and 9 to play; AA’illiams beat Sloan Morpeth, 7 up and 6 to play; Bettington beat Hattersley, 4 up and 3 to play; AVi user beat AAiiitton at the 40th.
AVOMEN’S TOURNEY. Tho Victorian women beat New South AA’ales by three games to two.
