BULLS.

BULLS, Aug. 24. Mrs Abraham, o,f Parewanui, left on holiday by rho express on Tuesday evening, and will spend a couple of weeks in the Auckland district. Mr and Mrs \Y. 11. (Mson and family left on Tuesday for Wellington. So far the school committee have not been advised regarding Mr Olson's successor as headmaster at the Bulls school.
About 200 members and friends gathered in the Town Hall supper room on Monday afternoon on the occasion of the celebration of the “first of the Bulls Women's Institute. Visitors were present from Sanson and llalcoinbc Institutes, and were welcomed by the president, Mrs Ralfe. A pleasant afternoon was spent, musical items and two plavettes being given by members of the Bulls Dramatic Circle. Those contributing to the musical programme wore Mrs Abraham (Parewanui), Mrs Dudding (llalcombc), and Miss Fagan (Sanson) , and all items were well received. A recitation by Mrs Edwards (Sanson) was also much appreciated. During the afternoon Mrs Goodall gave a brief talk on laminated wool. A dainty afternoon tea was served by tho hostesses, and the birthday cake, donated by members of the committee, was cut by Mrs Broughton, senr. Mrs Vile, on behalf of the llalcoinbc Institute, presented the Bulls Institute with a beautiful hand-worked art silk table centre, and expressed thanks anil good wishes for the future success of tho institute. Mrs Drew, of Sanson, also expressed thanks and good wishes on belialt of the Sanson visitors.
First-class scoring was a feature of Monday night's shooting on tint Bulls rifle range, double possibles being gained by D. Lundy and T. Prichard, and the top eight putting on 1101. Scores:—D.
