SIR TRUBY KING’S GIFT.
HOME FOR MATERNITY HOSPITAL Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 28. His intention to hand over his beautiful Wellington home on Melrose heights, adjoining the grounds of' the Karitane Home, to the Plunket Society for a maternity hospital was announced by Sir Truby King at the annual meeting of the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children to night. The announcement made a deep impression on those present, and at the conclusion of Sir Truby King’s speech Dr. Platts Mills asked all present to stand in honour of a great man who had been such an inspiration to all. Sir Truby King said the gift was subject to the consent of his executor, who had to see his daughter safeguarded, but he thought the property would be handed over within a year. Sir Truby added that the whole of the furniture, including the piano, pictures and other valuables, would be included in the gift.
